Become A DJ

I was amazed to see this game/device.

I haven’t been much of a video-gamer for well over 8 years and I’ve jumped on the hype-wagon around the Wii phenomenon after hitting a chunk of home-runs, TKO’ing my co-worker, and putting a couple birdies in Wii Sports.

My first couple visits to the Manifesto Studios back in ‘08 had me banging on drum-pads in Guitar Hero (XBOX) and now aspiring DJ’s and curious music lovers can experience what it’s like to rock a crowd or at least, for now, rock it with family and friends in the living room with DJ Hero.

DJ Hero is Activision’s latest release sporting a CD-turntable-like DJ’ing game controller with game play similar to Guitar Hero.

Legendary DJ Shadow, interviewed by IGN.com speaks on the games control-play, the importance of music in the game, and the inspiration the game will have on aspiring DJ’s and music lovers.

You’ll be able to become a DJ Hero October 27th on your PS3, XBOX, or Wii.

In The Works

I am currently in the works with these projects:

SampleSimple - Working it, improving it and pushing it.

C3TLive - Hip-Hop never dies and this energy cooks up like food.

Boombox Radio - Surgically implementing a live-streaming experience for the masses.

more to come…

Beat Lounge A Success

December’s Beat Lounge presented by Unknown Funk Hero (sponsored by MOOG Audio) in Toronto at the Silver Dollar Room was a great turn-out.  Producers Big Pops, Gigz, Rich Kidd, Mantis, Buttafingaz, Fresh Kils, Pro Logic, Fraction and headliner Marco Polo played banging-ass beats that had the crowd leaving with neckbraces supplied by the Silver Dollar Room staff.  Stay tuned for the next Beat Lounge next year in January.
