Witness The Producers Showcase Challenge
RuggedOne, winner of the Wallholder.com and Producers Block Ticket Giveaway for the Producers Conference, held back in August, has put together a solid looking Producers Challenge to be held in London next month (November 7th) just after the Nov 6th Beat Lounge.
The event will feature 16 hot producers from all over the city, including BBM Champ Big Pops, the magical Mista Magic and BBM Money Round Winner, Mad Loops.
The event will also feature performances by Point Blank, Rich Kidd, and Strik9 & Flex and is judged by Rich Kidd, D-Sisive and Mic Boogie

MADLIB is NOT Performing in Toronto, Despite Flyer
For the second time in the history o’ rap, Madlib, as advertised, WILL NOT BE IN ATTENDANCE TO PERFORM IN TORONTO. I repeat WILL NOT BE IN ATTENDANCE TO PERFORM IN TOR-ON-TO YO.
I’m not sure who’s photoshopped (and shopped) this flyer to the people up here in cold Canada but many have been had once again (see below). According to the OFFICIAL StonesThrow website, you know them… Madlib’s label, has specifically CAPATILIZED IN BOLD THAT MADLIB WILL NOT BE PERFORMING. I’m sure it’ll still be a good show though. JROCC and Karriem should tear it up regardless.

Submit Beats For the Beat Lounge
The Beat Lounge presented by Unknown Funk Hero and sponsored by MOOG Audio will be banging out next month (November 6th 2008) at the Silver Dollar Room here in Toronto. It’s going to be a funky, creative atmosphere where you get down and catch a vibe.
Any Producers and Beatmakers in the city interested in this event should attend and also start to get acquainted with such events happening in the city.
Also, if you’d like to showcase your beats then be sure to hit up beatlounge@unknownfunkhero.com with a beat website submission like a MySpace, BandCamp, SoundClick or Producers Block link to your beats.
- A funky, creative atmosphere where you get down and catch a vibe. -
As of today, the comfirmed featured Producers include Kitchener-Waterloo’s own MANTIS, so there’s more than enough room for interested producers and beatmakers to join and be featured to showcase their beat-crafting talents.
I’m Too Lazy To Understand This Story
I stumbled upon this article when my browser opened up to MSN.com
But it definitely had me laughing fter briefly reading it.
Janelle Monae - Best New Artist, Song & Video of 2008 and 9
When my girlfriend put me onto Janelle last year, I didn’t ignore her recommendation. Immediately I recognized her art. These days as a creator and consumer of music and art, I am quick to not pay much attention to new artist hype. But Janelle Monae…from what I understand, hasnt had BIG BIG pop-hit hype around her (yet). She even created her own label as part of her strategy to create her own world of music industry and its paid off with a recent deal signing with Puff’s BadBoy Records. But don’t be fooled. This isn’t just another Puff-hit wonder. This is art, music, and NEW black music at its best. Witness for yourself.

Fred E Fame on THE NEXT BIG SHOW
Just over a year ago when I started C3TLive, one of the first of many historical spots Caese and I blessed was at the SUBA Lounge where my boy Fred E Fame holds down a venue for local talent in the TDOT area.
Check out this video where he’s interview by RedFistedRebels on THE NEXT BIG SHOW.
He talks about showcasing local talent, his 2 brands the 5th and the V, bringing more females to shows, his live music band, and moments with legend Jeru the Damaja.
How To Turn Your IPhone into a Wireless Router
This is more of a reason reason why I am planning to get an IPhone. This is a video the JohnChow.com team has recorded, showing people how to setup an IPhone 3G as a wireless router when on the road. This will work for your MacBook or a standard PC. Give it a try and let me know how it goes. give it a try. Just don’t exceed the limits of your data plan or you may end up with a huge cell phone bill!
I’ve Manifested!
It’s Monday morning and I’ve just returned back to the BSRC, from the Pete Rock vs Preemo show.
I havent had any breakfast but I’m still amp’d up.
The show was crazy. There were a lot of classics played during the battle with some old school soul, funk and disco breaks — I shoulda sampled them boys but next time.
For now, please stay tuned for more news and video from the Festival.
For now check out the official ManifesTO website and YouTube Channel for event recaps and stories.
I need some help with SampleSimple.com
I’ve somehow managed to get SampleSimple to where its at today by simply loving what I do.
Its been a long ass journey that I attempted to tackle all on my own without any significant help, which pretty much was all my fault.
Day by day, I’m learning how to ask for help and support, network and build relationships as well as continuing to work hard.
So with that being said, I NEED HELP!
If you’re a Beat Production specialist in the FL Studio environment then hit me up here or info@samplesimple.com.
I need some recording and sampling people or even if you’d like to learn.
Plus, I’ll be working closely with you to eventually learn how to train producers and beatmakers how to record and sample in FL Studio. And yes you’ll be able to make some beat money.
